PARADES

Parade Permit Application

Pursuant to Elko City Code 7-2-13, a permit is required for all parades which will occupy any street, alleyway or highway within the City.  This map includes the approved parade route.  Any parade being held for the first time, or a parade that wishes to use a different route, must be approved by City Council.   The fee is $1000 per parade event.

SPECIAL EVENTS ON CITY PROPERTY

Special Event Application on City Property that  Includes Closure of a Street Application.
The City of Elko encourages Special Events within the city limits provided the applicant complies with all applicable City Code requirements to ensure a safe event for the sponsors and the public. This application is for those special events open to the general public when the event requires closure of any city street, alley, right-of-way, or public property which is owned or controlled by the city and may or may not include vendors.  This application must be approved by City Council, therefore the application must be completed 30 days prior to the event date.  Please read the application instructions and follow the application checklist carefully.  This application requires the sponsor to include a liability insurance policy in the amount of $1,000,000.00 with the City named as additional insured.  This application also requires a sales tax or use permit from the State of Nevada.    If alcohol will be served a special event liquor application is required.  Elko Police Department requires approval be obtained in person at 1448 Silver Street. The fee is $34.50 per vendor (unless they have a City of Elko business license or are a non-profit).

Special Event on City Sidewalk Application
This application is intended for temporary use of a City sidewalk adjoining businesses.  This application requires  the sponsor to obtain a liability insurance policy in the amount of $1,000,000.00 naming the City as additional insured.  This application also requires a sales tax or use permit from the State of Nevada.   Please read and follow the instructions carefully.  The fee is $34.50 if the event includes sales of merchandise (unless the sponsor has a City of Elko business license located within the City or is a non-profit).

Special Event in City Park Application
This application is any event held on City park property to which the general public is invited to attend, either through the sale of tickets or other means of entry.  If there are no vendors or entry fee's the only requirement is to reserve the park property with the Elko Parks and Recreation Department  (do not complete this form).  This application requires  the sponsor to obtain a liability insurance policy in the amount of $1,000,000.00 naming the City as additional insured.  This application also requires a sales tax or use permit from the State of Nevada.  Please read and follow the application instructions carefully. If alcohol will be served a special event liquor application is required. Elko Police Department requires approval be obtained in person at 1448 Silver Street.  The fee is $34.50 per vendor per day  (unless the sponsor has a City of Elko business license within the City or is a non-profit).

Concession Application
The City of Elko allows the use of designated portions of the Main City Park for food trucks.  There are five spots available on a first come first serve basis. Please contact the Business Licensing Department to inquire about availability.  Each Concessionaire is also required to have a City of Elko Business License.  Each application  requires approval from the City Council.  This application requires  the sponsor to obtain a liability insurance policy in the amount of $1,000,000.00 naming the City as additional insured.  This application also requires a sales tax or use permit from the State of Nevada.  A monthly fee of $50 is charged to each concessionaire.

SPECIAL EVENTS (NOT ON CITY PROPERTY BUT WITHIN CITY LIMITS)

Special Event Vendor Application

This application is for an event to be held within the City limits of Elko and the event includes vendors or entry fees for the event.  If an event vendor has a current City of Elko Business license no fee is required. This application requires  the sponsor to obtain a liability insurance policy in the amount of $1,000,000.00 naming the City as additional insured.  This application also requires a sales tax or use permit from the State of Nevada.  Please read and follow the application instructions carefully. If alcohol will be served a special event liquor application is required. Elko Police Department requires approval be obtained in person at 1448 Silver Street.  The fee is $6.00 per day  (unless the sponsor has a City of Elko business license located in the City or is a non-profit).

Special Event Liquor Permit Application
This application is used if any special event will be serving alcohol.  This application also requires a sales tax or use permit from the State of Nevada.  Please read and follow the application instructions carefully.  Elko Police Department requires approval be obtained in person at 1448 Silver Street.  The fee is $60.00 per day for liquor and $24.00 per day for beer/wine.

Special Event Farmers Market Application
This application primarily features booths, tables or stands where vendors sell unprocessed fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products and non-alcoholic beverages within the City limits.  If a vendor has a City of Elko Business License there is no charge. This application also requires a sales tax or use permit from the State of Nevada. The fee is $34.50 per vendor per day if the event is on public property (unless the sponsor has a City of Elko business license located in the City or is a non-profit)., or $6.00 per day if the event is on private property.

TRAVELING SHOWS APPLICATION
This application is for any circus, carnival, concert, exhibition or any show intending to exhibit in the open air or under a tent, in a public or private hall, club room, assembly hall or theater where moveable scenery, theatrical equipment or props are used in a performance or exhibition.  This application also requires a sales tax or use permit from the State of Nevada.   The fee is $138 per day.
