The City of Elko Recreation Department offers many different Youth Programs for the community's youth. Please take your pick from all we have to offer:

DAY CAMPS

Well, hello there!! Glad you could join us on this trip through a little thing we call Adventure Day Camps. You think it’s going to get hot outside this summer? Just wait until you take a look through this schedule...you’ll see that we’re turning up the heat, too! Every one of our day camps is chock-full-o’ summer fun, and you’re not going to want to miss a single second of it. Campers will enjoy weekly field trips, which include swimming, museums, fishing, hiking and exploring. An experienced, trained and

   

responsible staff will lead young campers on numerous travels. Mixed in with the journeys are activities that include arts and crafts, games, organized sports and contests, many parks and special event days. Ask for a weekly schedule at time of registration.

Are you looking for a fun, safe place where you child can make friends, build self-esteem, participate in organized games and activities and have additional help with their homework? Fun Factory is the program you've been looking for!

Fun Factory is a quality before and or after school recreational and enrichment program for children who

   
need a safe, supervised environment everyday before &/or after school.This program is staffed by qualified recreation leaders and aides. The daily schedule consists of an activity or game period, snack, homework assistance during educational period, arts & crafts and a variety of other recreational activities. Every day, time is set-aside for a Drug Awareness Program, which is sponsored by the Bureau of Alcohol & Drug Abuse. The user fees collected support the program with all equipment, supplies, and salaries. Remember!! Field Trips, Food, Fun, Frolics & Friends to the end of the school year.

 

SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAMS

Wondering how to keep your children busy while they are on break or vacation from school? The Parks & Recreation Department has extended their popular after school program through the summer to meet the needs of many children who require a safe, supervised environment during the summer vacation months. Our qualified, creative staff will aim to deliver a memorable experience for all involved. We have a terrific summer planned for your children.


 

Some of the activities included in the program are arts & crafts, field trips, indoor & outdoor games, sports & water activities, tournaments, swimming, bowling and movies. Participants are required to bring a sack lunch that does not require heating or refrigeration, a cold drink and a water bottle every day. The fees collected support the program with all equipment, supplies and salaries. Remember!! Field Trips, Food, Fun, Frolics & Friends.

YOUTH SKI PROGRAM

Our program consists of four ½ day clinics for the 6-15 age group. Offered on Saturdays & Sundays each clinic consists of four sessions directed by certified instructors and coaches. The Elko SnoBowl ElkoKids Ski Program specializes in making learning to ski a fun and safe experience. Our experienced instructors will help your child develop the skills required to enjoy a lifetime of winter fun on the slopes. From the time they arrive at the SnoBowl, your children will enjoy supervised activities emphasizing learning in a fun environment. Included is an all mountain lift ticket, ski equipment, and lessons.

On occasion, recreation department staff may photograph or videotape participants in department programs/classes, or at special events/facilities. These photos are for recreation department use only and may be used in publications, brochures, pamphlets, flyers, or video productions.
