During the summer months Elko Parks are filled to capacity for picnics, family gatherings, sports activities and special events. We are happy to see so many people in our community taking advantage of our beautiful facilities.

Parks are public assets. Our tax dollars pay for the development, improvements and maintenance of these areas. Vandalism at our public parks is on the rise. Everyone loses when our parks and facilities fall victim to this type of crime. These activities are committed by individuals of all ages. Unfortunately, the perpetrators are not always caught in the act. Vandals destroy City property without care.

Thousands of your tax dollars are spent each year to repair vandalism. This money is taken from parks maintenance accounts previously allocated to other projects. This seriously lessens our ability to provide much needed improvements and normal maintenance to our parks. Many man-hours are spent repairing and replacing items when they should be used for maintaining and improving our current levels of service.

If you see someone damaging park property, we encourage you to call the Elko Police Department. These activities are a crime against everyone and cannot be accepted. Become involved. Let's keep our City parks safe and beautiful for all of us to enjoy.

We are looking forward to an action packed summer season. Please feel free to come and visit us soon. We will be happy to answer your questions and listen to your suggestions. Play hard, play safe!

Equipment rental is also available. Those who wish to use the park are not required to pay a user fee, however, should a party reserve that particular park area, those who have not paid the park user fee and received a copy of the application will have to relocate.
