The City of Elko provides a wide variety of municipal services some of which are:
 

Municipal Utilities

The Elko Municipal Water Department provides:

Top quality water to residents of Elko.  We are continually planning for the future and expanding our water resource and deliver capabilities.  

The Elko Water Reclamation Facility:

Treats over 3.5 million gallons of sewage each day.  The water is treated using biological processes, with the end result, effluent that is reused for irrigation.  Reuse is our goal for all water treatment activities. 

Public Safety:

A full service Fire Department, providing services to include:

  • Emergency medical first responder services
  • Confined space rescue
  • Water rescue
  • Airport fire fighting services
  • Trench rescue  
  • Fire prevention services
The Elko Police Department provides law enforcement services to our residents, including:
 

Community Development

Our Planning Department works to insure a well-planned community Working with the Elko Planning Commission and other City departments, the Planning Department works to create the roadmap necessary to insure that Elko will be a community in the future that offers efficient transportation, utility, recreation and other municipal services.

The Elko Building Department is charged with building code enforcement
 They work with the development community to insure quality structures throughout the City.

Municipal Court

The Elko County Justice Court serves as the Elko City Municipal Court.  They area located in the Elko County Courthouse and can be reached at (775) 738-8403

Public Works:

  • Maintenance, repair and reconstruction of streets within the City of Elko, with  the  exception of those maintained by the Nevada Department of Transportation.
  • Maintenance of our storm drainage system throughout the City.
  • Sweeping of City streets.
  • Maintenance of the downtown parking corridor.
  • Maintenance and repair of traffic control devices.

Elko Regional Airport

The Elko Regional Airport serves all of northeast Nevada with commercial and private air services.
