Chapter 2-2 ELKO ELECTRICAL CODE
Section 2-2-8 CONNECTION TO INSTALLATIONS:
It shall be unlawful for any person to make connection from a source of electrical
energy or to
supply electric service to any electric wiring or equipment for the installation of which a permit is
required until the certificate of approval, authorizing the connection and use of such electrical
wiring and equipment, has been issued by the Electrical Inspector.
It shall be unlawful for any person to make connections from a source of electrical energy or to
supply electric service to any electric wiring or equipment which has been disconnected or
ordered to be disconnected by the Electrical Inspector until a certificate of approval has been
issued by him authorizing the reconnection and use of such wiring, devices, appliances or
equipment.
It shall be unlawful for any person to make any electrical connection to any electrical equipment
until approval has been given by the Inspector and a notice of approval attached. The Inspector is
hereby authorized to disconnect any electrical installation or equipment which has been connected
before the approval for service has been given. He shall thereupon attach a notice which shall
state that the wiring or apparatus has been disconnected by the Electrical Inspector, and any
person removing said notice or reconnecting said wiring or apparatus before the same has been
approved by the Inspector, shall be liable to the penalties provided in this Code or in the Charter.
